Cascara is the dried outer skin of coffee cherries. Because of that is difficult to find in the US. Since we are brewing the skin of the cherry, you have to know and trust the farm it comes from (organic, with no pesticides, etc).
Our Direct Traded Cascara is from our friends in Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza, Brazil. Their slow drying process preserves the sugars on the skins for a more complex flavor.
João Hamilton is a friend of us who owned Sitio Canaã, a specialty coffee farm in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
